December 3, 2014, 8:32 pm Cold call at 7.30 pm - Asian sounding voice. Said something about computer support. I KNOW my computer is clean - I maintain it myself as I'm tech savvy. This is a definite SCAM. Just HANG UP. If you talk to him, he will try to get remote access to your computer by 'pretending' to be a computer support of some sort. HE'S NOT COMPUTER SUPPORT - HE JUST WANTS ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. He may sound plausible, but he's NOT. Giving a stranger remote access to your computer is VERY DANGEROUS!!! You could lose a lot of data, passwords or even money from any online financial accounts. AVOID THIS CALLER - HE'S A SCAMMER, NOT COMPUTER SUPPORT!!! December 4, 2014, 9:42 pm I received a call at 7.17pm today 4th DEC. He said his name was Jordan and he had info that I was having problems with slow running PC and if I logged on he would talk me through the problem and show me how to correct this. I refused 'help' and hung up. I don't usually answer withheld numbers this caught me unawares. When I checked number I realised that this company had tried to contact me 6 or 7 times before. December 5, 2014, 8:06 pm WIndow tech support people with thick Indian accents. I can only assume this is some scam from India. Famous scam actually. The USA has a serious problem with these people along with the UK. In the US the FTC has forced these companies to issues million dollar refunds to customers because they are in effect stealing from people with their fake tech support memberships and selling free software. December 8, 2014, 2:15 pm Just got a call 10 mins ago re computer Internet being slow. I had reported a fault with BT last week and thought it was them phoning back. The guy asked me why I was telling lies as I told him I had an iPad not a computer and when I asked to speak to his Manager he hung up. How lucky am I after reading your posts. December 8, 2014, 6:24 pm I had a phonecall at 5.52pm from a 'company' trying to get details about my computer and internet connection - the person said I had a computer virus that was showing from my internet connection and he wanted me to go on my computer and he would fix it for me. The phone number was 0113 1132840. I asked the name of the company and he said 'Global Online Support Company'. I asked where they are based and he said Cardiff (the phone code is for Leeds). I asked for the company number and he said they would send me an email at the end of the phonecall. I said I wasn't going to give them any information and to remove me from their database and he hung up. Please remind everyone not to give out personal/computer/internet information. December 9, 2014, 6:49 pm Just had a call from 1132840 (18.40). Asian accented male informing me my computer had many viruses which were slowing down my internet access & had already transferred to my mobile, tablet, iPad etc. He wanted me to log on to my computer so he could fix it. When I asked which company he was calling from he told me they were a 3rd party company (didn't give a name). Told him I didn't have access to my computer, he then asked when I would have access & he'd ring back. I declined his offer & put the phone down. Caller Company: 1132840 Caller Type: Scammer

He asked 'Why? repeatedly. I put the phone down and he immediately rang back and started to say 'Hello, I'm calling you back ... ', but I put the phone down. December 10, 2014, 4:50 pm I got a call from this number at 4.28pm today. THe man had an indian accent and said he was calling about my computer. I asked him exactly why he was calling. Knew it was a scam immediately, however, put the phone down and he rang persistently for the following half an hour - actually is still ringing! December 16, 2014, 6:07 pm had a call from this number just a moment ago. i'm no fool with any call of this sort. indian voice - on asking i was told he was calling from leeds. said my computer had a problem. i asked him to explain it, he said there were connection problems and he could sort it. i suggested he was a f***ing idiot and that my incoming calls are all recorded, so asked him to give me his name and full company details!! lol. to his criminal credit, he retorted back and called me a f***ing dick. lol. superb. all the fun of the fayre and all that. December 19, 2014, 11:22 am Received a call from this number today, from an Asian sounding person, saying that I had problems with my computer which he could sort. I said I did not have any problems and if I ever did I would sort it myself. After him continually saying to listen to him I said that I was putting the phone down, to which he said 'You are off your head' and I said excuse me what did you say and he denied saying it at all. December 20, 2014, 4:42 pm Received a call from this number on 20/12/14 and let it go to ansaphone as I didn't recognise the number and get a large number of nuisance calls. If people start to leave a message, I pick up. If they don't leave a message (as on this occasion) I check for others' experience with the number after the call, and I was not surprised to discover that it's another one of these tiresome attempts to gain access to my computer. December 21, 2014, 2:26 pm Had a call (2nd call - missed one earlier) on 20/12/14. Asian voice, claimed I had viruses on my computer system, asked me to turn on the computer so he could help. I played dumb for a while to see where it would go and then said, "I've got one question - Do you think I'm stupid?" He replied, "Yes you are and if you don't want our help you should hang up the phone and stop wasting my time." Rather ironic, considering it was obviously a scam, and no prize for courtesy either. December 23, 2014, 4:22 pm same problem. Knew it was a scam so decided to have some fun and waste his time. Asked him how he knew my computer was slow and that he must be brilliant, a real genius - because I don't have a computer! LOL. He didn't go so I asked him to wait while I went to get something.
