June 6, 2014, 1:13 am I was called by this number today. They left a message urging me to call an 0845 number with an alternative for reverse charges from abroad. Said it was called HSBC Fraud dept. I called HSBC directly on their normal contact number, and it was all confirmed. My card was being used fraudulently. They do not ask for passwords, pins or other sensitive info. Make sure you call the number on the back of your card to speak to people about your accounts, Never call back anything on the call display about your banking or credit card. May 20, 2015, 8:00 pm This number is fine, it is from the fraud dept at hsbc, checked it with my local branch when they called. Nothing to worry about. August 11, 2016, 2:38 pm It's actually not a scam. It's Hsbc fraud department they call you if something goes wrong in your account. You don't have to believe it when they call but you better call back to theit official number to find out why they have contacted you. March 21, 2017, 2:49 pm got a call and then a text telling me to call HSBC fraud team, called them and it was genuine. they thought my card had been used by someone else but it hadnt. i confirmed the payments made using the card and they cleared it.
