November 3, 2015, 11:24 am received call at approx. 10.30am 3/11/15 from a foreigner called James! stating that mircosoft had picked up on an error on my computer, I kept asking for his company name & phone number he hung up! November 4, 2015, 10:19 am Asking if I'd had any unwanted calls recently. Said my telephone preference service has ended. Wanted me to confirm my address and telephone number (they obviously have these details!). Then asked me to confirm my direct debit card number ... I stopped the call!! No financial details needed for Tel pref service! He started to say it was 'for life' ... rubbish! Told him he does need these details and ended the call. I AM registered with TPS and the call still got through. Have reported it to ico.org.uk (as Watchdog website lists this as where to complain). November 4, 2015, 11:49 am Received call from So Called Nick claiming to be from Windows. Told me that my pc had reported malicious errors to Windows and that he can tell me how to resolved the error. I asked him how he got my number and he got aggressive telling me he will tell me how he got it. In the end I told him that I am a qualified ICT Support Engineer for 1 and 2 my number isn't registered with Microsoft or any division or partner of Microsoft and that I'm registered with TPS. November 9, 2015, 11:53 am Have been called by 01269 849064 at 11:39 (09-11-2015) My phone allows me to have call barring so I just bar numbers that are reported as spam. Claimed that I have a contract with them to block calls and it would be upgraded to include international calls. November 13, 2015, 10:58 am I get called on 01269849064 at least three or four times a day, all Asian sounding people, I know that they are just doing this for a job, so i usually string them along a bit , then say the door bell has rung must go goodbye. I always tell then that I work for microsoft and how can I help them today, when they say what do you mean, I say well this is the microsoft helpline, I assumed that you have a problem with your computer, thais is why you called me. they then hang up. January 7, 2016, 1:27 am I got a call from 01269849064 at 14.53 on 5th Jan 2016 on my landline. An Indian/Asian sounding guy who asked for me by name and had my name right. He said my windows on my pc had been hacked and viruses were right through my system. He suggested I turn on my pc and he could help. Unknown to him, I was already online but I don't use windows. (I've had calls like these before from others so I knew roughly what was happening.) I asked him what would be next if I turned on my pc and he politely told me he would "shove my pc up my arse." I figure he rumbled that I knew his scam. I kept the head and told him politely "you people really are scum aren't you" to which he replied " Bugger off". I beat him to the hang up. I must admit to being quite shocked at being abused like this especially as I was speaking in normal tones and was engaging him to find out where he was trying to lead me in order to know more about his scamming method. I was scratching my head after the call wondering what the hell just happened before feeling quite angry about it. I have Indian friends and they are some of the best and nicest people you would wish to know. It's sad that other obviously educated and clever people wish to use their talents to scam and deceive people in this way. This for me doesn't reflect on Indian/Asian culture. It's just the work of sad, dishonest individuals who will be found anywhere. I just wish it was easier to trace them and stop them ripping people off. January 13, 2016, 11:25 am Called me 11:00 today asking about windows computer and so I said I had apple. I asked what they were offering and he said a brilliant offer. I said should I go out and buy a windows computer to be able to take up the offer. He said yes. He then said that he would like to offer me a radio for £199. I said how much I loved radios and that I have a few already but I could use it for my bathroom. He told me my address and said his was Cardinal street in Victoria London. I started giving him a credit card number and he said there were not enough digits. I asked if he could deliver it today and he said yes. I asked him how he could deliver it and he said by helicopter. Kept conversation running for a few minutes more regarding helicopters and then reminded him that as I had an apple maybe it didn't make sense to give me this offer to which he agreed and wished me a good day etc. Caller Type: Scammer

January 20, 2016, 12:40 pm Had a call from this number at midday today (20/1/16) purporting to be Talk Talk. Indian man asked for me by name and said I had a problem with my router. Realising it was another Talk Talk scam caIl I told him I had no problems. He then told me to f**k off and the line went dead. We instantly recognised this as a scam, and my husband advised them we didn't have a windows computer in the house, and asked where we got the number. Hung up. January 30, 2016, 1:16 pm I always look to see what number comes up when a call comes through on the phone when I didn't recognize the number I did not answer. February 3, 2016, 12:58 pm 'Mark' (with a foreign accent-Indian or Pakistani I think) calling from Windows operating system. Had been monitoring my PC for a couple of weeks and noticed problems with it! Asked me to go to my computer and gave me instructions to open event viewer. I knew it was a scam so strung him along then told him he was a scammer and should get a real job and not try and con people out of money. He wasn't happy and called back twice after I hung up. Will be incredibly pushy and quite rude in tone ...convince you that you have downloaded malicious rubbish...and URGENTLY want you to get to your device and follow their instructions. June 15, 2016, 3:31 pm Just had a call from this number claiming to be from Windows and wanting me to log into my computer because something harmful to my computer has been downloaded. When i said Windows dont contact customers and asked how he got my number he the called me a "f*cking b*tch! Twice! I told him to never call again and as i put phone down he said he would call again. July 13, 2016, 6:22 pm Received a call from this number, said they were the 'Energy Support Centre'. When I asked for their name and address The caller got flustered and passed me to another guy who gave me an address in Norwich (which I suspect is false). When asked, he confirmed that the company checks the TPS lists before making a call. Told him that was obviously not the case because my number is on the list! March 28, 2017, 11:46 am Called by this number purporting to be BT to advise that my broadband was due to be disconnected due to errors and corrupted files, which they could solve if I followed their instructions on my laptop. I advised my operating system was Linux Ubuntu to see if that would fluster the caller, who passed me to a technical colleague. I then asked him if this problem was affecting several Virgin Media customers which he replied yes (no clue he was meant to be BT). Long story short, they asked me to install Team Viewer on my laptop, by which point I'd had enough and told them I'll call my ISP to verify the call as it sounded 'suspicious'.
