I answered once and all I could hear on the other end of the line was a very busy atmosphere, lots of men shouting (not even sure it was in English)at each other. I told him I run a fraud team for a multi-million business, he immediately hung up the phone. Technically they are misrepresenting what they are offer and there is potential for civil action, so contact vodaphone and explain the situation and threaten to take legal action. There is a thread on the Vodaphone forums (cant give URL links on here) and you will see a member of Vodaphone technical team confirms that this is a number Vodaphone use to contact customers about special offers etc. The tech guy also gives instructions on how to be removed from their list. February 17, 2015, 11:44 am I just contacted Vodafone to check if this was a valid number. I was informed that it was not one of their numbers. They also told me that they could stop unwanted marketing calls from them and others by putting a block on my account for those calls. Very helpful. If you have a smartphone, go into the call log and press down on the number. You will get an option to block the call/add to spam list. That way they cannot call you again. February 19, 2015, 4:58 pm Had a few calls from this number now but didn't answer as I didn't recognise it. Then I googled it, plenty of results from people explaining it's a scam. A few people on here have said it's not a scam and really Vodafone, they are lying and obviously part of the scam. Their website lists all numbers associated with them and this is not one of them. February 20, 2015, 10:41 am I've had at least 1 phone call everyday for over 2 weeks. Most of the time I don't answer but when I do they hang up after about 4 seconds. The 1 time I did answer it was someone insisting he was from Vodafone but I hung up before he had a chance to say anymore. Still getting calls everyday, apart from weekends. Was a great help. With the nature of these calls, if they are ringing a number of times, simply answer, and let them know you arent interested. Telemarketing systems ring automatically until you answer and let them know. Don't be harsh to the people on the other end of the phone, they are merely doing a job, I did it too in the past, last thing they want is to be talked to like vermin. April 10, 2015, 11:44 am I was called by this 'Vodafone' number, And was told that they'd give me a great deal by capping my account when it got to a certain amount, and they'd give me an extra GB data and free picture messages. Thinking I could use these services without being charged I was then charged over 20£ extra this month. April 27, 2015, 4:26 pm They said they were from Vodafone and "just for data protection" wanted my full name and my four-digit passcode and first line of address. I said "you want the whole four-digit passcode and not just one or two numbers from it?" and she promptly hung up. Had I given her that information she could then have logged into my Vodafone account and done what she pleased. These sound very dodgy characters. May 13, 2015, 9:52 am I have got to tell you that this number is in fact Vodafone, i use to work for the company, we just made outbound calls to existing Vodafone customer and offered additional products and services, like any other company does!, the company never asks for any sort of bank details what so ever, its only three non sensitive details they need in order to confirm its the right customer, after that they can and should be able to divulge any other info eg price plan, previous bills, any extras on the account etc, so when anyone else gets a call from this number, do not be alarmed, answer and if you don't want to receive any more calls tell them, they have to take you out the database, do not ignore, because if you ignore you're number will just go back into the database to be dialed again, hope this helps thanks :) Caller Company: Vodafone Caller Type: Unknown

Asked if I have access to the account details so they can do an account review. May 19, 2015, 11:30 am They rang me every week for a few weeks once or twice a week and one day I finally managed to answer it. The lady said she was from Vodafone and she was going to run through my account with me and offer me some perks as I'm a loyal customer. I agreed but then she asked me for my whole address and my name which she said she already had on the screen in front of her... Why if she is calling me does she need to know all my details as I already confirmed my name! I asked her this and she became shirty and panicky on the phone... Not very professional for Vodafone!
