They will tell you that there is no penalty to cancel your current contract. Often these calls come before rates drop so they can lock you into higher rates. September 21, 2014, 4:01 pm This is some kind of call centre I think. There seems to be a number of different names on people's caller id's screens with this number. U switch, Spark Energy, Scottish Power, etc. All seem to be offering the same deal, which is to try to get you to swtich power companies with offers of lower rates with better contracts. November 6, 2014, 10:05 pm In my case the caller was "Spark Energy", or at least that's what was listed on the caller ID. They are a third party company that wants to compare energy supplier rates and see where they can save you money with a cheaper supplier. December 2, 2014, 1:17 pm I keep getting unknown numbers calling me at different times in the day, and when I look at who has called me on here people always say its an energy company or Scottish power. I'm currently very happy with my current energy supplier and don't have the time or energy to bother with a switch. December 11, 2014, 3:23 pm This is "Scottish Power" and they want me get a copy of my current energy bill so they can compare their rates versus my current rates to see where I can save money. Obviously, the call is intended to get me to switch power companies with offers of a better contract.
