I got called 3 times in a row. Like clockwork, these people would claim to be from different phone companies and call me at 10:00 am (right when I'm busy working and often on my company's phone dealing with student enrollments).

The first time was some asshole from Virgin Mobile asking for someone's name, and when I told them that they may have the wrong number, they immediately changed tack and tried to hook me in on some dumbass phone deal (despite that this is the age of the internet, and if anyone wanted to change phone companies, they'd FIND OUT THEMSELVES).
The next phonecall (from the same number!) claimed to be from 3. I was furious and told him to f**k right off. Still, 24 hours later, the same number called me again but with some guy claiming to be from O2.
I don't know what kind of operation they're doing, but they're absolute morons for calling three times during the past few days and claiming to be from three different companies (it's almost like they believe that everybody has the memory of a goldfish).

Don't believe anything they say. Plus the infuriating part is that they're no longer settled with plaguing landlines with their toxic deals and are now creeping onto mobile phone numbers. The only thing you can do is to block them.

Had this number call me 3 times this week, 2 being today. All claiming to be from different companies. Ive asked them multiple times to remove my number from their list and the last call that i had (5 minutes ago) i "politely" asked them again to remove my number or i will report the number they are calling from. I have been getting these calls (and no id number calls) for the past 3 weeks. Very odd that the only new thing i have associated my number with is my insurance company!

25/02/15 this number called me this morning claiming they could offer me a Nokia Lumia and so many minutes for £12 a month, the guy asked me for my account number and sort code so I interrupted him and said your not going to ask me for my three digit security code are you and he replied yes but you won't tell it me you will type it into your keypad, first of all wouldn't they run a credit check first to make sure you were eligible before asking for bank details? This and the fact that he was trying to speak words which were obviously not from his everyday vocabulary made me very suspicious. I told him that my partner had my bank card in his wallet and he was out and I could actually hear the disappointment in his voice when he then proceeded to ask me if I was sure it was not in my purse or something. I told him no it wasn't and to ring back after 3 o'clock when my partner is back so when he does I will have him at it and wind him up. These people seem all to eager to get your bank details rather than selling you the product they supposedly rang to. Don't give any details to them they are scammers take the pi** and they don't like it.

I have an emma diary subscription for pregnancy updates. It is this website that sends a ton of emails to enter prize competitions. Anyone would be interested to win the prizes they offer, so following their links to enter the prize draw you are putting your phone number to be announced by phone if you won. That's how your number gets in contact with those business junks. Best to block the numbers.

I was called by someone Asking how was my service with O2. I then told him I wasn't with them so he asked who my mobile provider was. I told him to mind his own business and I wouldn't be giving him any information as he could be anyone and to take my number off their system as I will not give my information to strange people who call me up at random times.

He apologized so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if I get anymore calls. I suspect I will.

After reading all of the previous posts about people swearing and being unkind to the telesales people. I have to say we all need to remember that they are only human and just doing there best to keep their jobs and pay their bills. Unnecessary abuse from the person they call isn't going to get the person anywhere so calling the number back and having your number removed like Ruth said would be a kinder option. Everyone has to earn a living somehow. Please everyone remember your manners. Being polite but firm with the callers costs nothing.

to everybody saying they're registered with TPS, that only stops a company from taking your number from the phonebook. companies are legally allowed to call you at least once and placing your number on competition/survey websites or even when taking out loans online your details get passed on. this is all specified in the TPS terms and conditions which you also agreed to. if you dont wish to receive these calls, dont put your details in online. anywhere online.

in addition to you TPS idiots who clearly dont know the T&Cs of the telephone preference services. unless people on the phone are asking for your pin number, long card number or security codes they cant do anything with your information. nobody is hacking your life by knowing who provides your services. dont be complete morons, manners cost nothing.

Just had a call from these people claiming to be from Vodafone calling to inform me of some exciting rewards.

Caller was about to launch into a sales pitch obviously when he claimed my account was on another server (in the process of updating their information). Obviously, because it was realised it had gone past knocking off time at 5.41pm.

Apparently I will get a call same time next week. This should be interesting seeing as i'm still under contract.

The Company said they were calling from O2 so as not being a customer of O2 knew this was a sales call. I asked to speak to a manager and then asked them what thir company name was and he said convergys. I told him by saying they were calling from O2 is fraudulant and i'd like a complaint logged and my number removed from the list of numbers sold to them by another company as i am too on the TPS. And i would like a call back within 48 hours from there managers to let me know where they got the number to phone me from

O2 sales. Got multiple missed calls. I blocked the number through truecaller, however if you call them you have two options - 1 is to rearrange a callback and 2 is for them to never call you again. Recommend doing this is I no longer receive the annoying calls.
