December 5, 2014, 10:32 am Recieved many calls from this number wanting to transfer money to my account. I had purchased 6 months ago a Website whos company have recently gone bust. At first the scammers sounded legitimate and stated that they would be able to refund the money to my credit card details. However 6 months ago when i made the purhase i was using a credit card that i have now cancelled. They took control of my computer the scammers and stated that Westerunion were the company that would carry out the transfer. On reaching the input credit details their system couldn't recognize my new credit card details. They insisted that i use another credit card which i refused. I then started asking them questions like what company are you with, where in the UK you were working - they said Notingham which was false, and there seemed to be laughing and messing around in the background. At this point i stated that i was going to report this number to the police which i did. He was also spoke in a Pakistani accent. Checked my bank and reported to them in case any money came out. They are entering into a contract with you by going to the next step and you will invoice the company £20 for the first minute and £10 for each subsequent minute that they wish to continue the call. December 10, 2014, 3:42 pm These are ppi callers are a nuisance! Call me 5 - 6 times a day. They stopped calling after I got there head office number and calling them back and hanging up everyday for 4-5 hours when they answer. Did it for a full week while I was off sick. Kept me occupied. December 15, 2014, 10:17 pm I just got a call from this number and my Android phone said it was a place called Ammanford, when I Googled it it's evidently in Wales). I answered the call and it turned out to be my sister calling my mobile from Australia on Skype. Maybe these people who are calling others are using Skype and for some reason it brings up Ammanford? I'm pretty well travelled and have dealt with people all over the UK but I can't say I've heard of Ammanford before so it can't be that big a place. Unfortunately I forget to block their number yesterday. I have done this now but what's the betting that they start using 0126984959{1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0} next! I pestered my MP about this (at a local charity footy gig) and said: "Hey wouldn't it be great if all these cold-caller bozos had to sign up to the 'Call Once' scheme?" "What's that?" - she said. "It's just an idea of mine that I wish your lot..." (if they get back in - not from my vote either) "...passed a law allowing them to call once and if the recipient is not interested they never call again, and by law they would have to have real numbers - none of this internet/unknown - rubbish. And then you could fine them for miss-use, etc. The govt would replace their defecit in two days based on the number of idiots I have to suffer on a daily basis is anything to go by!" Todays call was "urgent" about my PPI insurance. So, I know pressing 9 definitely doesn't work so this time I tried pressing 5 and will see what happens next. This number clearly does not belong to anyone, just read all the complaints and notice the BUPA one I am legit and had NO IDEA until tonight that this might be an issue, in my view skype has damaged me without me even knowing! I am actually glad the guy said to me I was a scammer as I had no clue what was going on he might just have ignored me and I would be none the wiser! It is pointless to report this number COMPLAIN TO SKYPE for displaying this frikkin number It is obvious reading this site and others that LOTS of organisations display this number Look at the info about BUPA, but if you withhold your number this weirdly shows! and then of course if thousands of people show this number all scammers will be included and then all legit companies will be damaged without even knowing (unless someone says scammer!) I doubt BUPA are scamming, go back and find that post and you will understand that this is a SKYPE PROBLEM that you shoudl complain to skype about. I told him no...he said are very sure as we can claim back your money...I said no again....again...again in the end I got cross and told him I am ending the call and to remove my number. January 13, 2015, 2:00 pm Paki or Indian called, saying someone was trying to change my password on my e mail account, and he was from Hotmail. Starting asking loads of questions, i.e. address, phone, bank etc. Gave him nothing, told him he was a scammer, but if he was not, to e mail me with all his details.
