June 2, 2015, 2:43 pm It's not Vodafone themselves, it's a 3rd party telemarketing company calling on behalf of Vodafone. They are called Webhelp TSC and also make sales calls for Sky. They offered me a "free" tablet or MiFi device but, of course, they are wanting to tie you into an additional contract. I told them I was not interested and the telemarketer politely ended the call. Although this is not a scam, I can understand the anger and frustration these calls can cause. I suggest adding the number to your block/reject list. June 4, 2015, 2:43 pm Called me today, saying she's from vodafone, she knew my surname but from the background noise it was clear she was stand near some kind of fish market or butcher's because of the chopping noises. They try pretend to be from Vodafone but are in fact not as they have the incorrect bill payer's name and don't have the phone number of the bill payer and request that you give it to them. July 8, 2015, 2:17 pm I was called by this company, and then immediately called Vodafone (191) to ask why this company knew my recent account billing history. Vodafone's representative told me that they are a third party marketing company for Vodafone (or some such), and apparently they are legitimate. But, Vodafone have now kindly blocked the calls. Don't take my word for it on this though, of course. Personally I would never give out any details to anyone making an unsolicited call. Certainly not to anyone offering a 'free tablet'! He said he couldn't repeat it as it was "Data Protection". He asked again what my name was and I said "I can't tell you because its Data Protection". He hung up! July 20, 2015, 7:47 pm i've got many calla from them. First time the guys told me that I was selected to get a TABLET for free. I said no. He said: It's free!!!. I said to him again: I don't want anything from you (because, obviously it sounds rare.) In the end, when I said no for the second time the guy hung up without saying any word which I think is quite rude. They call me back so I just blocked them. The call wasn't answered so when I noticed it I looked it up on the internet to find out that the call comes from Rotherham and is someone claiming to be Vodafone. Have decided to block caller. Easy to do on an iphone - Just click on the 'i' icon next to the phone number on the missed calls window. This will take you to the Info page. August 11, 2015, 2:42 pm Called me Sat 8th Aug 15 and Monday 10th Aug 15 first one was regarding about my plan which ended in about 5 mins because I know they can't do anything about it and I'm happy with what I have. 2nd call was more cold calling aggressive was trying to sell me a Android Tablet with 3GB of 4G data package as apparently no extra cost to me as every year I build some sort of points system with Vodafone which resets every year. 1) I've been with Vodafone since 1997 I started out as PAYG till my contract in 2004, in all my years with Voda I've never been told about any points system and with this I knew it was BS. As soon as he had finished I told him about the first call on Sat 8th which never mentioned anything about a points system and he wasn't trying to sell me a tablet I wouldn't need. 2) After this I told him I do not believe it's from Vodafone because they never once asked me any security questions only info they had was my price plan. Which I believe Voda must sell on to marketing companies which I never agreed too. As soon as I mentioned no security questions and I don't believe they are apart of Vodafone themselves he quickly and this isn't a lie wanted to end the call. I've put this number in Auto reject and I will be putting in a complaint to Vodafone because I do not want my info sold to marketing companies without my knowledge. This is an up-sell service on behalf of Vodaphone, offering a tablet for free but with 24 month contract. November 14, 2015, 11:59 am Been pested ny this number for about 2 weeks now. I answered it yesterday and was asked to give my details. Will never give my details out without knowing who is calling. Thet explainded they cannot give me more details till I give them some of my details. I put the phone down and blocked the number. December 1, 2015, 9:19 am Vodafone called offering free upgrade on Data, free tablet, everything FREE FREE FREE for loyal customer.Said I did not want any of it . Nothing comes for free. They sent the tablet anyway, set up a new broadband account, charged £12 a month and delivery charge all without my authorisation. Blatant mis-selling and misleading the customer. Complained to Vodafone and they just don't get it. Very unprofessional. If this is what they do to loyal customers I will not be one any longer. Will take complaint further. December 17, 2015, 11:30 am Call from 01709 765330 Rotherham, England Woman introduced herself with obvious call centre script and background noise, asked for me to confirm my name and date of birth, that she was calling from Vodafone and doing an account review. I declined giving her my name and DOB, I said I would call her back and she said I couldn't as its not an incoming number and again "it's just an account review to make sure you're not being overcharged" I do believe this is Vodafone outsourcing sales but I said I'd ring back to Vodafone direct and said bye before she had finished her sentence! I appreciate these people are earning a living. However if I was Vodafone I would not want my reputation damaged by them. January 12, 2016, 2:29 pm rec'd a call today - lady claiming to be from vodafone with some great deals for me for being a great customer. i said ok go through them - which she said i needed to confirm my name - i replied surly you have it you just called me she didnt really know what to say and said oh no i need to ensure its you and your phone wasnt stolen in the past 30 mins. said to her this sounds dodgy and to not ring me again. January 19, 2016, 7:54 pm I just received two calls from this number, first time they hung up the second it was apparently someone from vodaphone wanting to offer me a treat for being a loyal customer, I called vodaphone after to see if I could get an upgrade, and they had no trace of the call, I have them the number and they passed it on to the fraud team who is going to sort this issue. January 19, 2016, 9:11 pm Revceieved a call from this number today, never have they called me before, claiming to be Vodafone. Spoke to a gentleman who seemed very friendly, I couldn't hear anything in the background like people have said before on this thread. They didn't offer me any tablets, any upgrades/extras or any other services. They just 'reviewed my contract and payments', they seemed to have had all data on what I've paid and when I paid and which months were over the allowance (I pay £39 p/m contract with an iPhone 6, Unlimited calls/texts and 6GB 4G data). All he did was ask me to confirm my name and address; didn't once mention bank details, security answers or anything along them lines. It did seem very genuine, I'll post again if they call back but this is the first call I've had from them. Caller Type: Unknown

January 28, 2016, 9:11 pm I actually work for this company and I guarantee we work on behalf of Vodafone IT IS NOT A SCAM!!!. It is a 3rd party company that work on behalf of Vodafone but we have all your details and that anyway its just a formality to ask for confirmation of details it is also for DPA basically so if we do sell something and it is added to your account then we are certain its going to you and on your account and not your son/daughter or friend adding something onto it and taking it for themselves. It's just to protect you. Secondly, we call you to try and help with any queries or problems; we call this an account review. If we see you're going over your internet data allowance then we try and cap it for you. We then may ask some "probing" questions to try and sell you something else as well as helping you. It is basically customer service sales in a nutshell. Vodafone aren't going to give out your details to some 3rd party company to give them a bad reputation. We are just trying to help you and sell you something as well to meet our targets and hopefully satisfy your needs as a consumer. I apologise on behalf of my colleagues if you feel you are being mistreated or anything, but it is very stressful. If this a legit 3rd party company (I will be querying with Vodafone) then I am annoyed that my details have been passed on. Not good business for vodafone. March 18, 2016, 10:57 am I've just been phoned by this number and told they needed to delete my account as its registered as "Linda Hawkins", sounded very dodgy, a lot of noise in the background and the man didn't even say who it was or that he was from Vodafone....just started with "is this Linda Hawkins?"
